Other more specific hopes for the 20ll Census include:
- adding a question on economic or occupational status one year ago or a question to identify those who were students one year ago;
- following the Scottish example by extending the journey-to-work question to include journey to place of study across the rest of the UK;
- producing a full breakdown of region of origin for immigrant counts;
- maintaining classification systems used in 2001 as far as possible e.g. for ethnicity, occupation, etc; and
considering a less damaging non-SCAM method of disclosure control for origin-destination statistics that:(i) produces consistent counts across different tables (if not between levels) (ii) has less dramatic impact on OA-OA flows; and
possibly providing access to unadjusted interaction data in a safe setting.
