Flow Data Information System
Patient Register data 1999-2008 (rounded)
The Patient Register data are abstracted from NHS adminstrative data by
ONS, and form a time series of migration data. In principle all patient moves
are captured, although in practice there are known lags with groups
(especially young adult males) who tend to be slow to inform their GP of a
change of address.
These data present a total number of migrations observed in mid-year to
mid-year periods, between districts in England and Wales only.
The data show the total number of persons in each move, rounded to the
nearest 10 persons.
